New Friends

First, we found this huge snapper in the middle of our driveway. We named him Spike.

Then, on the drive to Grand Rapids later today, we saw this mama black bear, along the side the highway. Her 2 cubs had just crossed the road, and she was waiting to cross to them. She was the biggest black bear I’ve ever seen. (And I lived in Alaska for 10 years!)

Both were beautiful sights to see. Spike is welcome in our pond. But I’m grateful mama and her cubs were 20 miles away from our house!
